What Factors Play A Role For Conception To Occur?

There are a great many factors that play a role for conception to
occur. Everything from the timing of intercourse to your age to your
nutrition can impact whether or not you will be able to conceive.
Some of these factors are things that you may be able to do something
about, in order to improve your chances of conception occurring.
Other factors are beyond your direct control, but may be addressed
medically. Finally, some of these factors are things that you just
can't do anything about.

Will Low Levels Of Progesterone Affect Conception?

Your levels of progesterone affect conception greatly. Progesterone
acts to help the uterus to maintain the uterine lining so that an egg,
once it is fertilized, is able to implant in the wall of the uterus.
In addition, progesterone will raise your Basal Body Temperature
during the time that you are ovulating, which many women track as an
aid to conception. If you have low levels of progesterone, your
uterus may not be able to maintain the uterine lining, allowing the
fertilized egg to implant.

"So, I took Clomid days 5 - 9 of cycle for the first time this month.
At my MD visit on day 13, they said that follicles weren't developed
like they would like so put me on Estradoil, which I have been on
since. I went back to MD on day 16 and they said that follicle was
developed and should ovulate within 12-48 hours. They then gave me
Crinone (progesterone) and said to use daily for next two weeks as
well as the Estradoil. I have been doing some research about both
hormones and have learned that they may cause birth defects. So now I
am nervous that if I am pregnant - this is day 19 (one can only hope),
that this could harm a growing fetus!!! Any help? Also, don't know
much about this progesterone level I am hearing so much about - what
should it be normally? And on Clomid? "
